Summary : A traceroute implementation using TCP packets
Description :
Tcptraceroute is an alternative to the traditional traceroute.

The traditional traceroute utility displays the route used by IP
packets on their way to a specified network (or Internet) host.
The traditional traceroute sends out either UDP or ICMP ECHO
packets. Many of the traceroute packets end up being filtered by
firewalls.
By sending out TCP SYN packets, tcptraceroute is able to bypass the
most common firewall filters.
