I'm using Mandrake 8.2 Beta2.  I believed the /etc/rc.d/init.d/alsasound was generated 
when I compiled the alsa drivers from 
Mandrake kernel-source for my compiled kernel.

I know, that's why I did not enable it since there's the /etc/rc.d/init.d/alsa script 
that I can use.
