Hi again, I mounted the ISO file with mount -o loop /mnt/sda5/MandrakeLinux-8.2beta3-CD1.i586.iso /mnt/cdrom and created the boot floppy with dd if=/mnt/cdrom/images/hd.img of=/dev/fd0 I tried this up to three times with three different floppies and always got the following message: Loading hd.rdz........ (8 dots) Boot failed: please change disks and press a key to continue I hope I'm not bothering you with newbie questions. I have been using Linux on and off for 2,5 years now, but I realize I don't know a lot yet. I have been pondering if I would post this here. I decided I would. Who knows it is a problem with that image, then it would be bad if it went into the final version. Jo
