The test screen in DrakX is black with gradual bleaching to white (unevenly across the screen). It apears to actually install the XFree86 and drivers and fonts successfully, though. After rebooting, the X environment seems to work O.K.
Previous releases of Mandrake have worked fine, including 8.1. Perhaps this is a 4.2 issue?
