If it works under Windows, it is absolutely certain that your monitor will 
work under Linux. Linux will drive monitors that Windows won't (unless you 
have a Matrox card 'coz they supply useful tools for Windows to bring it up 
to speed). You will probably have to hand-tweak /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 based 
on the monitor's exact frequency specs.
