I think this is the wrong ttmkfdir, which segfaults and creates an emtpy fonts.dir (at least it did for me). I think you need to use mkttfdir from perlftlib. drakfont will do this for you if perlftlib is installed, but it isn't installed by default. Also, there was one other problem with this, but I can't remember what it was .... I think I reported this, but it might have been missed in the rush of the last 2 weeks ...
