I was reading mdk forum and somebody mentioned that doing a
"cat /dev/port" as root crashes his/her box...I tried it on a
couple of debian boxes, a mdk7.2 box, a mdk8.1 box, a mdk8.0
box and an 8.2 box...and only the 8.2 box crashes...I really
have absolutely no clue why, but it hardlocks to the point of
press-the-big-red-button
