how about this " have the windows "installer" do a brute force export from the registry? and then scan it for known stuff and then drop it into a list green = supported yellow =might be supportted orange = non open drver must be downloaded gray = win thunks not needed for linux red = not supported black = completely unknown and then drop the resulting file onto a floppy for later use
