This explains the problem I've been having the past few days. I decided to
make my own cooker iso for the first time using MakeCD and I couldn't figure
out why 1-Cooker-iso was so small (34k). It turns out that many packages were
rejected because of their dependence on libpanel_applet.so.0. How can I get
around this?

Thanks,

It won't help at all, GNOME 2 panel doesn't is not backward compatible
with GNOME 1 applets => applications should be compiled without applet
support until they are ported to GNOME 2...
