I've got a sony grx 570 with ati radeon, new 16.1" display @ 1600x1200, after
letting the machine sit for a while X will take up to 20 mins to start. After
it's been up and running for a while X will start right away after
reboot/shutdown.

I've tried starting X from the command line to make sure it's not kdm, I've
tried starting with and without networking to make sure something isn't
fscked with hostname/resolution.

I've tried mandrake kernel and my own 2.4.18, with and without drm support.
I've commented out all the dri, dbe, grx, turned on omit-dga, etc...

Windows will start up fine in the same 16 bit 1600x1200 resolution.

Console works fine, and X works fine after it starts. It's just the first boot
right after the machine has been off for a while.
