As posted on Mandrake Forum Monday 27 May, draknet has problems with this USB ADSL modem. It detected it, part-configured it and told me where to download the firmware from.
I got the firmware and reran draknet, which produced /etc/ppp/peers/adsl with empty values for vpi and vci (pppoa will not work so). It ought to be trivial for draknet to insert these values. `man pppoa3` gives vpi.vci = 8.48 for Netherlands 8.35 for France 8.67 for France (bis) 8.35 for Belgium 8.35 for Italy 0.38 for UK Whenever I use draknet to configure, it blanks the vpi and vci settings again. Anyway, having set those values manually I was able to to make connection using scripts from benoit papillault (http://benoit.papillault.free.fr/speedtouch/user.php3) but, after using `/usr/share/speedtouch/speedtouch.sh stop` it stops but restart is not possible. This could be a USB problem. -- Mandrake Linux release 8.2 (Bluebird) for i586 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1600+ 511MB Kernel: 2.4.18-6mdk-pnr-win4lin KDE: 2.2.2 Qt: 2.3.1 up 4 hours 16 minutes. ~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~
