I found and fixed a bug with KDE 3 KPersonalizer. It's already been reported
on bugs.kde.org, and closed saying that it's a packaging problem. The problem
is that KPersonalizer starts at every login. The solution is simple - after
looking at the source I figured out that ~/.kde3/share/config/kpersonalizerrc
needs to contain

[General]
FirstLogin=false

but after adding that, it was deleted at some point and kpersonalizer ran the
next time I logged in. I chowned the file to root:myuser and chmodded to 660
(from 600) and now it work correctly.

There are two problems here: the FirstLogin=false doesn't seem to be set (this
is done at the start of kpersonalizer.cpp) and if or when it is set, it is
somehow deleted.

If you must reply to me, please send it to [EMAIL PROTECTED]; I'm not on
this list.
