This will cause some php applications to be unusable, especially, the applications that use the sem_acquire command, for example, horde/IMP ( http://www.horde.org/imp/ ). This bug doesn't occur in php 4.0.4 and php 4.1.x. As seen in, http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/security/2002/MDKSA-2002-017.php?dis=8.0 , php in many Mandrake releases has been updated to 4.0.6, which has this bug. So, will Mandrake or Redhat plan to fix this bug by updating those old releases by php 4.1.x ? I have tried to put php 4.1.2 (from Mandrake 8.2) into my Mandrake 8.1 box, but there are many conflict dependencies that I can't resolve.
