I was removing some fonts I don't use and discovered that drakfont will allow you to remove essential fonts on which X and Gnome (maybe others) depend. The desktop becomes unstable big time. And if you reboot, you end up with a black screen that does nothing (the system comes up but X is hosed).
There probably needs to be a way to prevent users from removing essential fonts. At least the fonts X depends on. Mark
