Hello,

I tried again to install 9.0rc1 on a PC with an MSI K3T raid motherboard
which uses a Promise 20276 raid-controller.
When the installation asked me for disk/scsi drivers I installed the
ataraid module and also (by hand on tty2) pdcraid.
In the fdisk phase there was an error which said that the partition
table was too corrupted. I did not make a new partition table but went
on. There were 3 disk-tabs: hda, hdb and ataraid/d0. hda and hdb were
empty or unknown and ataraid/d0 showed the exact partitioning I made
with windows-xp. I installed 9.0rc1 on ataraid/d0p6 and everything went
fine. Only the writing of the bootsector failed.
When I rebooted, this failed because the was no valid bootsector.
Booting with the bootfloppy I made, also failed though it said that is
was attempting to boot from /dev/ataraid/d0p6.
Of coarse windows-xp also couldn't boot anymore.
When I booted the install-disk with "rescue" it could't see any
diskarray nor could it repair the original bootsector.

Henk.
