I don't quite see why you want to boot your installed system from a CD. The bootdisk is an alternate way to boot your system, as opposed to installing a bootloader (lilo, grub). It can also help when your bootloader is damaged, but you may also use the "rescue" feature of the installation CD: insert it, hit F1, type "rescue" and press enter.
