thank you pixel for testing it again. i have found that the problem is on the gcc of my box. the two tests fails when the perl is complied with gcc-2.96-0.76mdk, and several LM-8.2 boxes using that version of gcc have the same trouble. so i have replaced gcc-2.96 with gcc-2.95.3, and got no error at all. -- War doesnt determine whos right, just whos left.
