It does look a lot better than the present freetype. Other than the fact that small font sizes tend to look a bit fuzzier than they should be, this is a lot nicer and more uniform-looking than the present Xft, IMO. Hope it makes it into CVS. :) I'm using it now on my machine and Konqueror looks even better than before :)
