Root needs an identical entry in /etc/shadow$$CLIENT$$ to the one in
/etc/shadow. By default, I filter out root from the selection of possible
users in drakTermServ, so you would need to do this manually, although su
may still work, I don't remember if I tried it.

Then again, you could just read the "Help" screen in drakTermServ:

        - Maintain /etc/shadow\$\$CLIENT\$\$:
For users to be able to log into the system from a
                        diskless client, their entry in
/etc/shadow needs to be duplicated in
                        /etc/shadow\$\$CLIENTS\$\$. drakTermServ helps
in this respect by adding or removing system users
                        from this file.

Again, this is not cooker material. I'm not going to answer any more RTFM
questions on this subject here. If you really can't seem to work your way
through using the app, even after reading the docs. Mail me off this list.
