Product: urpmi Component: urpmi Summary: Cannot "exclude" a path when installing Version: 4.0-9mdk Platform: PC OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [ I had to file this against 4.0-9mdk even though 4.1-2mdk is the latest because bugzilla on qa.mandrakesoft.com is not up to date with package releases ] urpmi has no means to exclude a path from being installed as the rpm "--excludepath" option does. Having this sort of mechanism is absolutely necessary to administer boxes which have portions of their filesystem shared from another host, as in mounting /usr NFS from a workgroup server because software being installed on a client should not try to install in/on /usr. This would become ever so much more important in administering a cluster of hundreds of Mandrake boxes which all shared their /usr from a master server. urpmi becomes useless in this type of enviroment and as such requires the user to fallback to using rpm with all of it's deficiencies (dependancy resolution for instance!). ** Anybody who wants to NFS mount /usr should vote for this bug!! ** ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
