I sent the following message to expert, but thought that maybe it could be used on the cooker list as well. Sorry if it is a little long.
-----Forwarded Message----- From: David Bolin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Soyo Dragon KT-400 Ultra Date: 06 Jan 2003 13:44:36 -0600 I recently purchased the board listed above, and fully expected to have problems with it. I was not disappointed. =) http://www.soyousa.com/products/proddesc.php?id=176 is the link to the product page on Soyo's website. With the stock Mandrake install 9.0 Workstation DVD edition everything was detected (Except the High Point 372 IDE-Raid) The install would crash when it was enabled.) After install was completed and rebooted I found that I had no DMA, no Video, and as a side effect of the APIC being enabled in the kernel I had no USB, nor ethernet. (VIA-RHINE) I have rebuilt and installed the 2.4.21-pre2 kernel and everything seems to be working now except DMA still has issues. My Samsung DVD/CDR-W is not being set up correctly. I think this has to do with the DMA problems in the kernel. I have attached three text files with my dmesg, lspci -v, and lspcidrake -v. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ---- dmesg Linux version 2.4.21-pre2 (gcc version 3.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.0 3.2-1mdk)) #3 Sun Jan 5 15:47:58 CST 2003 BIOS-provided physical RAM map: BIOS-e820: 0000000000000000 - 000000000009fc00 (usable) BIOS-e820: 000000000009fc00 - 00000000000a0000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 00000000000f0000 - 0000000000100000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 0000000000100000 - 000000000fff0000 (usable) BIOS-e820: 000000000fff0000 - 000000000fff3000 (ACPI NVS) BIOS-e820: 000000000fff3000 - 0000000010000000 (ACPI data) BIOS-e820: 00000000fec00000 - 00000000fec01000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 00000000fee00000 - 00000000fee01000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 00000000ffff0000 - 0000000100000000 (reserved) 255MB LOWMEM available.
