Hi, I had some spare time so I decided to try to make a kernel with support for the Intel 845 IDE chipset... ( meaning (U)DMA support ...)
You can get it here: http://www.iki.fi/tmb/Cooker/kernel-2.4.21pre4-1mdkcustom.tar.bz2 As it's a tarball you have to make the initrd yourself... and of course add it to lilo / grub ... Is's actually a backport from 2.5.59, and should add support for Intel ICH, ICH0, ICH2, ICH3, ICH4 ide controllers ...
