[EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Ever Confirmed| |1 ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-04 06:44 ------- Virtual Provides ---------------- In the past gd-1.x and later libgd1 provided gd, to be consistant gd-2.x (libgd2-x) should provide gd2, and gd until gd-1.x is phased out. Likewise there should be a similar thing with the devel package. libgd1-devel should provive gd-devel, libgd2-devel should provide gd2-devel, and gd-devel until libgd1-devel is phased out. Finally when libgd1-x is gone from the distro, libgd2 should only provide libgd and gd, libgd2-devel should only provide gd-devel. Why? If I want to install for instance the OpenSSL devel package I don't have to care how Mandrake has named it. I just do "urpmi openssl-devel" and rpm/urpmi logic install the package who has this virtual provides flag. So I don't think this is a bug in webalizer but in the libgd2-x package. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] description: webalizer depends on gd2 -- this isn't provided by anybody; it probably should depend on libgd2 instead (or libgd2 should provide gd2 -- I'm not sure which one is right) Either way, you can't currently install webalizer unless you resort to --nodeps.
