Hmm I am running the Newest version of the BIOS.  That could be a problem.   
Should I try to downgrade the BIOS ?   The bios that came with the system 
didn't work either with ACPI, it had the same effect.     Do the the acpi 
ml's say which BIOS version it works with ?
