I've solved it. I started linuxconfig and brought up network settings and
entered DNS and gateway settings. I can now use browsers, ect. Is there a way
to make Mandrake get DNS and gatway settings from a access point automatically
like windows does???

Problem had nothing to do with orinoco card. Sorry.

description:
Computer is HP XT375 Laptop. Has internal wireless compatible with
orinoco_pci driver built into the kernel. Mandrake 9.1 Beta 3 autodetects the
wireless chip and I can run the network configurator. I have been unable to
connect to the internet after configuration. The network tool indicates
connection failed. The internal adapter works under Redhat 8.0 after
doing "modprobe orinoco_pci" and running netcfg tool and using defaults for
the wireless settings. I am not sure whether the network tools are to blame
or my skill using them.
