------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-11 23:33 ------- It works!! Go to http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/Orinoco.html and save the 'hermes.conf' (Under the 'Patches for orinoco_cs' heading) to '/etc/pcmcia/' then restart your machine, I restarted the pcmcia service and my system just hung but when I rebooted everything worked perfectly without having to patch anything at all. One thing that I noticed right away is that my Orinoco Silver PC Card is listed as an Intersil Prism2 Card, here's the outsput from the xconsole after re-inserting the card: cardmgr[770]: socket 0: Intersil PRISM2 11 Mbps Wireless Adapter cardmgr[770]: executing: 'modprobe hermes' cardmgr[770]: executing: 'modprobe orinoco' cardmgr[770]: executing: 'modprobe orinoco_cs' cardmgr[770]: executing: './network start eth1' ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: ASSIGNED creation_date: description: The wvlan_cs module is missing from drivers/net/pcmcia I can see in the xconsole window that cardmgr is trying to insmod wvlan_cs but it doesn't exist-- I successfully copied the module from 2.4.21-0.pre3.1mdk tree (from 9.1 beta2) but I know that this isn't 'proper' Battery and power management is missing from the current kernel as from the previous beta
