bug 2 is a duplicate of bug 1459.
bug 1 is probably caused by KDE (I guess you are running KDE) not reloading menu
automatically when they are regenerated.. This problem should be fixed with
menudrake 0.7.3

Menudrake seems to have two big problem.
1) Bug preventing to save changes
a) Opened menudrake
b) created folder "Java" under programs
c) created folder WTK 1.04 under Java
d) added menuitem ktoolbar under WTK 1.04
e) saved changes
f) saving lasted about 2 seconds and did not really do nothing. (It has
usually lasted much longer)
g) new folders and menu-items did not appear my real menu! so this is a bug
h) closed menudrake and re-opened
i) just created folders and menu-item were still blue
j) tryed to resave but even that does not help.
2) Bug with "open in console" checkbox
a) open menudrake
b) chooce any of the items in the menu
c) box "open in console" is selected for each menu-item even that is not their
current behavior
d) unselect "open in console" checkbox in menu-item 1
e) select menu-item 2
f) re-select menuitem 1
g) --> "open in console" is again the "selected state" for the menu-item 1
