Yes, automatic management of the interfaces if you plug/unplug cables
while the machine is running.

Check with:

# ifstatus -v eth0
# mii-tool -v eth0

Do this both while you have a cable connected, and while disconnected.
Some drivers know they can't tell you, some think they can ... but can't.
