In the KDE Configuration Center,
I have the following message
for the "Gestion d'énergie -> Laptop Battery" leaf:
---
L'installation ACPI de votre ordinateur existe mais semble partielle.Il est
probable que l'ACPI soit activé, mais certaines options ne le seront pas - vous
devez activer au moins les options « AC adaptor » et « Control method battery »
puis recompiler votre noyau.
---
Sorry for french.

description:
I installed 'acpid' and 'acpi' packages.
Then, I supressed the 'acpi=off' entry
in the 'lilo.conf' file and ran 'lilo'.
I restarted my laptop
with the 'acpid' service launched on startup.

I let my laptop running alone
and came back ~2 hours later.

What works:
The screen and the hard disk were off.
Maybe my hard disk is managed by my mother board.
Moving the mouse putted my screen on.
Using my files explorer
waked my hard disk.

What sould work:
The fan always ran.

My laptop Sony VAIO PCG-FX301:
- CPU: AMD Duron Mobile 800MHz
- Memory 256 MB
- video card: ATI Rage Mobility P/M AGP 2x
- video memory: 8 MB
