You should also investigate Mandrake's terminal server. It is aimed more at thick-client (but diskless) setups, and as such 1)Can also be utilised in an overnight rollout 2)Has graphical config tools 3)clients can run any app locally that is installed on the server. LTSP is still much faster on lower-end hardware, but in a corporate environment, Mandrake's terminal server may save you more time ... and prevent you having to have duplicate copies of everything you want to run locally. Also, last time I looked at LTSP, they did not provide their entire source/build tools for the binaries on their site (which could be considered GPL violation), making it difficult to actually include LTSP in Mandrake. > Maybe we simply recommend to LTSP > that they run a newer version of bash that will compile properly under > gcc 3.2.2. I am quite sure bash will build under any recent version of gcc, I suspect your problems are elsewhere, and unless you provide the errors you are getting, there is no way anyone can tell. But this may be more suitable for a different list (expert?).
