Kde (and kmix) always default to the first card (in my case onboard Intel chip) and my second PCI SB Live is not seen in the drop-down box, where you can select the mixer you want to use. With OSS, it works fine - you get a second mixer tab and that's it. - the labels are ridiculous - some sliders on the mixer are displayed, when in fact these are just switches in ALSA (e.g. have on/off value). Why there is a slider for THIS ? (e.g. the +20dB mic boost switch). Secondly, did you see the array of sliders for e.g. Audigy or SB Live ? That does not fit not only on one screen, but not even on TWO! (I have dual-head with Xinerama). Huge usability issue here, I think. The kmix window becomes so wide that it stretches to 1.5 times my screen width of 1024. While it is a good idea to have all settings displayed, the labels are displayed very awkwardly. For example, instead of writing: 3D Control Center in one line, it would save a lot of horizontal space it were written as: 3D Control Center Also, these big names run into each other so that its hard to figure out which channel has which label. The labels need to displayed in a clean way.
