No, as I said its a Radeon 64Mbyte DDR, I seem a message on a newsgroup with someone
reporting the same problem with the (older) 32Mbyte DDR version of the card. These
both predate the 7500. A lspci dump (from 9.0) is attached. I don't use gdm, or
anything with Gnome, so your workaround is not acceptable to me. I agree about the
comment regarding the buggy ATI driver, however if there is a problem in this respect
then I expect Mandrake to ship either a fixed X server, or the one that was shipped in
9.0 (which works perfectly).

1. Log in to Mandrake 9.1 RC2 as any user (including root) using KDM (user has
the KDE environment).

2. Do whatever.

3. Logout from the KDE environment.

4. After logout the screen goes blank, the signal from the graphics card
switches off and you cannot get any login screen up (textual or graphical).
Under 9.0 the screen would blank before X starts up with KDM again, this does
not appear to be happening under 9.1RC2.

I am using a dual P-III SMP system with an ATI Radeon 64Mbyte DDR graphics card.
