Just a bit more information: in 9.1RC2 the "Removable Media" icon is not created anymore. (Commented out in /usr/bin/kdedesktop-links) This is not the solution howvere, since creating your own shortcut to a mount (as I have) will generate the same error, even in RC2. PS: Possible duplicates of this bug are: 1548, 1841 and 2575. Also Supermount not working however issuing "supermount -i enable" fixes problem of supermount on reboot. Error message continues but CD may be accessed via /mnt/cdrom in shell or normal window.
