during bootup the "checking for hardware" script deletes parts of the boot
screen. This is really bad you try to find a solution for a problem, for example
if you just saw a red "failed" and suddenly its away.
Simple idea: If harddrake really needs to delete the console, could you just
scroll the former stuff 25 lines higher?
Bytheway the same problem exists with the login screen since I use Mandrake
(7.1) Failed startup scripts are not accessible with shift-PGUP if they just
appeared immediately before the login screen.
