------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED]  2003-03-07 11:43 -------
I updated to the RC2 Mozilla version, and followed your advice to start with a
new .mozilla dir; I also noticed that I was using an Italian pack language and a
theme (grey modern) only fit for Mozilla 1.3a, and removed both, now using
Mozilla as it comes out of the RC2 box. When I thought you were right on the
spot, the freezes started happening again, exactly in the same way (trying to
reply to a mail message) and in some new way (when maximising the message list
to find some message, window flickers and then freezes).

If no other user reported this, most probably it must be a local problem, due to
some quirk in my ML 9.1RC1 installation. I wonder what that could be though ...

description:
The current version of Mozilla is very unstable and hangs for no apparent
reason. After reading some mail and doing some web browsing what follows happens:

- CPU usage goes to 99%-100% (a combo of X and Mozilla);
- it is impossible to read mail messages (nothing is displayed) or write new
messages (the write window is opened but it is impossible to write in it);
- browser windows freeze, sometimes with a frozen "Loading" in the tab label;
- the only way out is to killall mozilla-bin;
- to restart mozilla properly you have to log out and log back in (!!!).

I'm sorry I can't be more specific, but I just can't see what's the cause of
these blocks, they appear at random (sometimes 5 minutes after I started using
M, sometimes 1 hour later).

ML 9.1RC1 updated to latest cooker, Athlon 1.2 GHz, 512 MB RAM, Radeon video
adapter, 80 MB hd.
