I think if it was to be cooked first, the recipe would have said so. Chicken
cut in small pieces should certainly cook in the oven during the time
specified. I suppose you could cook it first if you wanted to.

I am gathering the chicken should be cooked first, what do you all think?
2/3 cups Bisquick
2 TBsp water
1 egg
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
3 boneless chicken breast cut into 1/2 inch pieces
2 tsp vegetable oil
1 1/4 cups chunky salsa
Heat oven to 400, Spray 8 ot 9 inch pan. Stir together Bisquick mix,
water
and ett. spread in pan, sprinkle with1 1/4 cups of cheese. Cook and stir
chicken
in oil , I did mine in the microwave. Stir in salsa, heat, spoon over
batter within 1/2 inch of edges. Bake 22 to 25 minutes.Sprinkle
remaining
1/4
cup of cheese, bake 1 to 3 minutes or until cheese melts. Loosen from
sides
of pan.
Serves 6
