shortening is like solid, usually something like crisco, crisco comes in butter flavored, it is higher in animal fat, but sometimes depending on the recipe, you need shortening and not butter.

Subject: [CnD] Shortening?

Hi,

Is shortening the same as butter, or is that something separate altogether?

Thanks.
