Hi Shannon,

I'll give it a try this afternoon. Right now the thought of food makes me ill. It does have a dual light which I cannot see, but maybe, I'm hoping that it will make a sound or something.

Yes-my now 20-year old stepdaughter at age 7 had me turn the sandwich 90
degrees to make it look like a waffle.
Regarding the squishing of the sandwich not really-but, if it did you could
then call it a panini.

I use the George Foreman grill to make grilled cheese sandwiches and
there's no flipping necessary with that grill. It usually takes 3 minutes
with grill preheated or a little longer if I make grilled cheese with
tomato sandwiches. On Sun, 26 Dec 2010, Shannon wrote:

I don't have one but have often thought about it. I make my grill cheese
sandwiches in a fry pan and it can be tricky sometimes on when to flip
them over. The sandwich makers I have looked at all had lights on them
to tell you when the tempeture is right. I thought they would be hard to
use. Can you share how yours works? thanks.

Subject: [CnD] SANDWICH MAKER

 Hi everyone:

I am probably the last person on earth to get a sandwich maker. I
never
thought much of them before I got one from a friend for Christmas.
After
taking a good look at it I wondered if it would be possible to make
things
other than sandwiches with it. So, went to my trusty friend, Google, to
see what I could find, all kinds of recipes there. I think I'm going
to
really like this little gadget. Here's a recipe using Jiffy corn bread
 mix.

 SANDWICH MAKER CORN BREAD

 INGREDIENTS:

1 8.5 ounce boxJiffy Cornbread Mix

 1 egg

 1/3 cup milk

 shredded cheddar cheese

 PREPARATION:

Mix up the box of Jiffy cornbread according to directions on box.
Lightly
butter the sandwich maker wells. Spread a layer of mix in the sandwich
machine and add some shredded cheddar. Then add another layer of
batter.
Close the lid and baked about 5-8 minutes.
