Hi,
if you want to make it interesting you could add some veggies like zukkini
and mushrooms. Add them before the rice and put the rice in when the veggies
are a little tender. You could also throw in a grated carrot. Onion and
garlic are always a welcom addition to my meals. Just remember when you add
those things it will take more than 15 minutes to cook, but it won't be so
plain. I guess you can use frozen vegetables but I prefer fresh any time.
Same goes for soup. No canned soup will ever enter my kitchen! But I suppose
it's a matter of culture. I don't know where you're from but in Israel
people usually make their own soup or sometimes they buy those awful powders
that come in a bag. You put the powder in water according to the
instructions and you're supposed to get a soup out of that junk. Not my
taste. Anyway, sorry for rambling more than I planned to. :) I hope my
alterations will help some.
Good luck

Subject: [CnD] Fw: 15 Minute Chicken & Rice Dinner
Hi everyone,
I cooked this chicken and rice dinner for my husband and I tonight with a
few minor variations. First, I did not brown the chicken breast halves
whole, I cut them into small bite sized pieces. Second, I did not remove
the chicken from the skillet when it was browned, I added the soup and
milk to the skillet with the chicken still in it, brought all that to a
boil, then added the rice and broccoli, turned it down to low, and cooked
for six minutes instead of five, because my rice usually doesn't get done
in five minutes and usually needs just an extra minute. The meal was a
success and very good, but my husband and I both thought it was just a
little bit plain and didn't have a whole lot of flavor. I'm not a very
experienced cook, I've been cooking for a long time but don't know a whole
lot about the art of cooking. I'm looking for some tips from any of you
more experienced cooks about what I can do to give this meal a little more
flavor and make it a little less plain. Other than the fact it was kind
of plain, I thought it was very good, very easy to make, it just needs a
little something extra. What do you guys think? The recipe follows below.
Thank you,
Brittany
