Mal, I have a simple thought, have you tried to call Sanyo and ask for a manual? It might take some digging to get past the voice mail system to speak to a person but I have called companies before and it works.

I have had zero success with this bread maker and if I can't get some help, I think it's destined for the trash heap. I have also looked on line for the manual and found zilch... on second though what I found was a lot of people asking for user manuals. So if you or someone you know has one of these handy dandy bread makers please let me know.
