Wikipedia has a great article on this, under their other name, Carambola.
Interesting fruit. I've had them in the past, and I liked the taste. A quick
web search will give you the information you are looking for.

Subject: [CnD] star fruit

Hi folks,

I have just been given a huge bag of star fruit...Frankly, I have no
idea what to do with them...Do you just eat them?...And, if so, do you
have to peal them first...Or do you cook with them?...I know this
might sound kind of weird, but I'd never even seen them till I moved
to FL...Thanks for any info anyone can give me

Kimberly
