Ma's Mississippi Mud Cake Recipe

Cake.

 

Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened

2 cups sugar

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

4 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups nuts

1 1/2 cups flake coconut

7 ounces marshmallow cream

1 box powdered sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup evaporated 

milk

1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter or margarine, softened

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

 

2. For the cake, combine butter, sugar, cocoa, eggs and 

vanilla

 in large bowl. Mix until creamy. 

 

3. Add flour, nuts and coconut. Mix thoroughly. 

Bake

 for 45 minutes.

 

4. For the topping, remove cake from oven and immediately spread with 
marshmallow cream on top. Let cool.

 

5. For the icing, combine powdered sugar, cocoa, evaporated milk and butter. 
Mix thoroughly. Spread on top of marshmallow cream.
