Some people choose to use a tray to mix up things and pour batter. Easy
clean up that way too.

I would use a measuring cup. Probably the 1/2 cup size.
I find even if it takes more time I make less of a mess.
I know it is wasteful sometimes I spread heavy tin foil on the counter 
or table with sides and set my baking sheet and bowl on the inside.
