In some parts of the country, this is also known as slumgullion.

1 lb ground beef
a few drops Worcestershire sauce (optional)
1 med. onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic chopped
1 8 Oz. can tomato sauce
1 can (16 Oz.) stewed or diced tomatoes
1 Tsp. dried basil
1/2 Tsp. dried oregano
salt and pepper to taste
1 bay leaf
1 16 Oz. box elbow macaroni
1 cup (more or less) mozzarella cheese
Cook macaroni in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes, or until al dente.
Brown meat in large skillet along with the onion and green pepper. Add
Worcestershire sauce (if using); add garlic when meat is done. Then stir in
tomato sauce and tomatoes. Add seasonings and simmer for about 15 minutes to
blend flavors. Stir in macaroni and heat through. Just before serving, add
the mozzarella cheese.
