I have a vita mix here myself so basically what happens is, is that the blades spin fast enough to cause friction in the water to heat it up. I assume the ninja works basically the same way. However, these blenders are quite loud so honestly it's easier to heat water up in one of those electric tea kettle then do the mixing of the soup in the blender for a lot less time. I assume the ninjas are decent but the vita mix is have a very powerful motor and can chop up anything.
