[CnD] Question About Substituting Fresh Tomatoes for Canned in the Crockpot

Hi, 
I have lots of fresh tomatoes and I want to use some in a crockpot chicken 
recipe instead of canned.  Do I need to add liquid and if so what kind and how 
much?
