They're originally French, though they're sold a lot as a point of sale treat in Mexican restaurants. They're pecan halves and pieces held in a mixture of brown sugar and other ingredients, then often formed into disks and wrapped individually. I just checked, and I don't have a recipe, so unless someone else has one it might be time for a bit of internet research.
