Basic Bisquit Recipe

1/4 c shortening
2 cs self-rising flour
3/4 c (approx.) milk

Preheat oven 450 deg.
In large bowl, cut shortening into flour til mix resembles coarse
crumbs.
With fork, stir in enough milk to form soft dough or til dough
pulls away from bowl.
Turn dough onto floured surface.
With floured hands knead til smooth, 10-12 times.
Roll dough to 1/2 in thickness.
Cut with floured 2-in round cutter.
Place biscuits, lightly touching, on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 10-12 mins.

Makes 12 to 14 biscuits.
