When I was in school, this is how our home mech teacher had taught us how to 
cook. She had also had us put down a paper towel lined cookie sheet to catch 
any spills making cleanup a breeze.

Do you pre-measure all your spices and ingredients before you start cooking?
(you should, it makes it go much faster!). If you want to skip having to wash a 
bunch of pinch cups or bowls use paper cupcake liners or small paper cups to 
hold the ingredients. Simply throw them away when done.
