I mean, honestly, it's been a while, but I think you press and hold that little
dimple thing that sticks out at the bottom of the scale for a few seconds. My
understanding is that it flashes blue like any other Bluetooth device when
ready to pare.
I don't recall if I did it from within the dropscale app itself or in the
Bluetooth section in iOS settings anymore.

I've had nothing but subpar experiences with the My Weigh scales.
Countless broken scales and so on. It's true that they offer free replacements,
but be aware that you have to pay for shipping.
I gave up on My Weigh scales after the 6th or 7th scale.
I tried both the Vox 3000 and 5000 models.
I ended up giving a Bluetooth talking kitchen scale a try. In particular, the
Drop Scale kitchen scale:
https://www.amazon.com/Drop-Scale-Connected-Step-Step/dp/B00TTY34KG
It works with iPhone and Android. In my case, I’m an iPhone user and the app is
fully accessible.
It weighs to the tenth of a gram. Have had it for over a year and it's working
like a champ. Just recently had to switch out the battery which was like $4.00
and lasts around a year.
I did have a Cobalt talking kitchen scale a while back, but I didn't like it as
it could only weigh to the tenth of an ounce which is unacceptable for precise
measurements like for baking and making coffee.

The my way talking scale has 1 gram accuracy and runs on a 9 volt battery.
I've never heard of anything with half gram accuracy produced for the blind.
